(Jillian Renouf/CBC)Two women are dead after the car they were in collided with a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in Renfrew, Ont., according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).Officers responded to the collision on Highway 17 around 12:45 p.m., according to a news release issued Wednesday morning. OPP temporarily closed the highway in both directions between Chenaux Road and Bruce Street.The victims, a 54-year-old and a 78-year-old from Val-des-Monts, Que., were the driver and a passenger of the car, police said. They were transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.The only person in the pickup truck did not report any injuries, according to police. Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone who witnessed or has footage of the collision to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
