2 of 11 New Brunswick wildfires classified as out of control

(Government of New Brunswick)There were 11 fires burning in New Brunswick as of noon AT Monday, with only two listed as being out of control.The first is the 456-hectare Beaver Lake Stream fire in Northumberland County, while the other is the 0.1-hectare 318 fire in Gloucester County, according to the province’s fire dashboard.The 204-hectare Rocky Brook fire in Restigouche County is contained within a bulldozed break or wet line. A small fire, 314 in Northumberland County, is also under the same classification.The remaining seven fires spread across various counties are being patrolled. This is the last stage before a fire is considered out.Among them is the the largest wildfire, the 1,403-hectare Old Field Road fire near Miramichi.There will be chances of showers in parts of New Brunswick Monday afternoon, said CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin.ABOUT THE AUTHORIsabelle Leger is a reporter based in Fredericton.
