(David Bell/CBC)A 50-year-old man from Stratford, P.E.I., has died from injuries sustained as a car left the road in Dunstaffnage Tuesday night. RCMP responded to the incident on Route 2 just after 9 p.m., along with the North Shore Fire Department and Island EMS. An RCMP news release issued Wednesday said that when officers arrived at the scene, they saw a vehicle had gone off the road and into the ditch. They located the driver in a wooded area nearby, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, the news release said. Route 2 was closed for just over two hours while an RCMP traffic reconstructionist examined the scene. A police drone operator was also called in.RCMP said the investigation in ongoing.
