Photo by Mikaela Gorman /FilePolice in New Glasgow have laid three hate-related charges against a 22-year-old man. On Friday, police learned of postings of online hate speech made from a New Glasgow residence, which they described as several hateful messages targeting Jewish communities. That afternoon, they located and arrested Luke Alexander MacDonnell, charging him with Advocating and Promoting Genocide, Public Incitement of Hatred and Willful Promotion of Hatred. He was taken into custody and will be appearing in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in Pictou on Monday.
