(Shane MacKichan)Police in Surrey, B.C., say a man has died after a shooting in the Fleetwood neighbourhood on Wednesday afternoon.The Surrey Police Service (SPS) said officers were called to the 15900 block of 84 Avenue around 3:45 p.m. PT following reports of a shooting.They found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries, who died despite life-saving efforts from officers.The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken charge of the investigation.Surrey police say it is the city’s third recorded homicide of the year.A large police response was visible at 84 Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. (Shane MacKichan)”While the motive is still under investigation, the incident does not appear to be linked to any ongoing investigations,” an SPS spokesperson said.The spokesperson deferred comment to IHIT when reached by CBC News.Anyone with information is asked to contact homicide investigators.The shooting was at a small business complex on 84 Avenue.
