Photo by Keith Gosse/The TelegramA house fire on Paradise Road damaged the attic of a home Friday afternoon but there were no injuries. St. John’s Regional firefighters were called to the scene at about 12:40 p.m. and arrived to find smoke coming from the roof and attic vent of the home. Platoon chief Ken Dinn said they also found the homeowner inside using a garden hose trying to extinguish the blaze but he was quickly ushered outside. The fire was then completely extinguished by firefighters who then cut into the attic to make sure there was no extension further into the structure. Traffic on the road was brought to a standstill as the first responders attended to the call. There were no injuries and the incident is under investigation.
