(Optimarc/Shutterstock)Canada Day falls on a Tuesday this year and most retail and city services will be closed for the holiday, while many tourist attractions will remain open.Celebrations and fireworks will be held across the province and details can be found on municipality websites.Services will resume with regular hours following the holiday on Wednesday.Here is a breakdown of what you can expect to see closed on Canada Day in New Brunswick.Retail and grocery Sobeys, Walmart and Atlantic Superstore will be closed. N.B. Liquor will be closed. Shoppers Drug Mart hours vary across the province but mainly see closure or reduced holiday hours. Please check your local pharmacy’s website for more information. Saint John City Market will be open throughout the holiday, hosting their own celebrations. Regent Mall in Fredericton will be closed. CF Champlain Place in Moncton will be closed. McAllister Place in Saint John will be closed. Tourism attractions Magnetic Hill Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beaverbrook Art Gallery is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Fredericton Region Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Fundy Discovery Aquarium will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kings Landing will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Government offices, public services Fredericton city hall will be closed. Moncton city hall will be closed. Saint John city hall will be closed. Saint John Transit will not run. Codiac Transpo in Moncton will run on a modified schedule. Please check their website for more details. Fredericton Transit will not run. All public libraries and administration offices will be closed. Service NB will be closed. Service Canada will be closed. Canada Day fireworks Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe will host Canada Day fireworks at 10 p.m. at Moncton’s Riverfront Park. The City of Saint John will host a fireworks display by the Long Wharf at 10 p.m. Fredericton’s fireworks will shoot off at around 10:30 p.m. over the Wolastoq (St. John River) with events happening in the Officers’ Square area.
