LITTLE LEAGUE PROVINCIALS: Glace Bay McDonalds Colonels even record with victory over defending champion Sydney Mines Ramblers

Logan Romeo led the way with a single and a walk along with three RBI while Braeden Phillips had a single and a walk with two RBI, and Hudson Gouthro posted two singles and a walk with an RBI for the Colonels. Jaxson Eyking recorded a double while Jack O’Connell and Lucas Howley each had a single for the Ramblers. Glace Bay’s Liam Gracie was the winning pitcher. Sydney Mines’ Lucas Howley was tagged with the loss. On Sunday, the host Sydney Major Sooners blanked Glace Bay 5-0. Hunter Orkish sparked the offence with a double and a single while Beau MacLean added two singles for the Sooners. Junior McNeil had two hits for the Colonels. Sydney’s Emerson Perry and Ethan Seward combined to give up three hits and no runs. Perry was credited with the victory. Glace Bay’s pitching statistics were not available. Sydney and Sydney Mines were scheduled to play on Tuesday, but the score result was not available at publication time. The tournament continues Wednesday with Sydney battling Glace Bay at 5:30 p.m., at McCormick Field.
