LITTLE LEAGUE PROVINCIALS: Sydney Major Sooners earn third win of tournament over Glace Bay McDonalds Colonels

Published Jul 09, 20251 minute readBrayden Phillips of the Glace Bay McDonald’s Colonels takes a healthy hack at a pitch during Nova Scotia Little League Provincial Championship action against the Sydney Major Sooners at McCormick Field in Sydney on Wednesday. Sydney won the game 7-6. Hunter Orkish continued to swing the hot bat, smacking a triple and a single, while Emerson Perry added two singles and Ethan Seward had a double for the Sooners. Junior McNeil posted a double while Hudson Gouthro added two singles to pace the Colonels offence. Sydney’s Seward took the mound in the third inning and picked up the win. Glace Bay’s Noah Boutilier shouldered the loss. Glace Bay and Sydney Mines were scheduled to play on Thursday, however the score result was not available at publication time. Sydney will play Sydney Mines on Friday at 5:30 p.m., at McCormick Field.
