(Nicola MacLeod/CBC)After the alert ended, a heavy police presence and at least 10 police vehicles remained at the end of the Glovers Shore Road, but cleared out by 10 a.m. AT. Witnesses later told CBC News they saw a man go into a neighbour’s yard, take a kayak and enter the water nearby. Police then also used the neighbour’s kayaks to go in after the man, according to the witnesses.Earlier this week, RCMP issued an arrest warrant for Lannigan on charges of assault, possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun while prohibited, two counts of pointing a firearm, use of a firearm in a careless manner and breach of a probation order.An RCMP officer checks vehicles leaving the City of Summerside on Wednesday morning.
