(Dave Chidley/CBC)A three-year-old is dead after a drowning incident at Mille Roches Beach in Long Sault, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police said.Emergency services responded to a call about a child at the beach with no vital signs on Saturday at about 5:45 p.m., OPP said in a news release. Off-duty medical professionals were conducting resuscitation efforts and the Cornwall paramedic service took the child to hospital, where they were declared dead.Police are not releasing the child’s identity and are investigating the drowning.On its website, the St. Lawrence Parks Commission said the beach is closed until further notice. OPP said the beach reopened at about 12 a.m.Long Sault is approximately 100 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.
