But the release noted the two injured individuals, both from Eskasoni, were transported to hospital by EHS.Article contentHeading to the scene of the collision, RCMP officers had located the truck near the intersection of 74th Street and Shore Road, where a group of people had gathered. Based on information that officers received at the scene, it was determined that the driver had fled on foot, the release said.Article content‘SHOWING SIGNS OF IMPAIRMENT’Article contentOfficers later located and safely arrested the driver, a 34-year-old man from Eskasoni, who was showing signs of impairment, the release said. The man was then taken to the RCMP detachment in Eskasoni, where he underwent a drug evaluation.Article contentIncidentally, Eskasoni RCMP said, officers responded to a report earlier in the day, around 7:55 a.m., of a possible impaired driver involving the same GMC Sierra. But at that time, the release said, an extensive search for the vehicle, led by multiple officers, was unsuccessful.Article contentCurtis Menge has been charged with failing to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm and two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm. Eskasoni RCMP said in the release the investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges are anticipated.Article contentMenge was remanded into custody and, according to the RCMP, is slated to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on Tuesday.Article content
