(Government of New Brunswick/Facebook)It’s going to be hot and humid in New Brunswick for the next few days.Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for nearly all of New Brunswick, warning that daytime temperatures may reach 34 C, with a humidex of up to 42 C, over the next four days. The heatwave is expected to begin on Sunday and continue through Wednesday, encompassing all of New Brunswick, except for some areas along the Bay of Fundy Coast. It comes as the province has closed all crown land— banning fishing, camping, hiking, and vehicles in the woods, and closed trail systems. It has also banned all forestry activities. A province-wide burn ban remains in effect as dry conditions continue and a wildfire north of Miramichi remains out of control.Environment Canada is urging people to take caution to stay safe and protect others, reminding them to watch for the signs of heat stroke and exhaustion, and to drink liquids, close blinds, and open windows if it’s cooler outside than it is inside.
