(CBC)A provincewide outage has been preventing SaskTel wireless customers from dialing out Friday morning.SaskTel reported the disruption just before 9 a.m. CST on Friday.The outage also includes SaskTel Business Integrated Business Communications (IBC) customers and Voip services, the company added.SaskTel said it has identified the issue and is “working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” but does not yet have an estimated time for a fix.RCMP say they have been advised of the outage. They said while they are still able to receive 911 calls, 310-RCMP is not working. RCMP are reminding people to still use 911 only for emergencies or crimes in progress. They are also advising residents to visit their local/nearest emergency services for non-emergency matters.As of 1 p.m. CST on Friday, SaskTel said the outage was still affecting all cellular voice services, along with about 3,000 business voice customers.Data services and text messaging are not impacted, it said, and some cellular calls may go through intermittently. SaskTel Home and Businesses Landline services are still operational.”We can confirm that today’s wireless outage is not related to any cybersecurity incident,” it said in an email. “Our teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore full service as quickly as possible.
