(Charles Contant/Radio-Canada)Search operations are continuing Sunday for a possible missing boater in the waters of Egmont Bay.An RCMP news release Sunday said Mounties, Tyne Valley firefighters and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre launched a search Saturday evening after a witness reported seeing a dory offshore from Enman Shore Road in North Enmore.The witness said that a man had been seen on board and that the vessel didn’t move for several hours as darkness fell, which was considered unusual.As police were on the way to the scene, the witness reported seeing distress flares in the area, the release said.The Tyne Valley Fire Department launched boats to help in the search, and land-based searches were also conducted, but nothing was found. The release also said no truck or trailer capable of transporting that type of vessel was located.Neither P.E.I. nor New Brunswick RCMP have received any reports of a missing person that could be linked to the incident.Police ask anyone with information to contact East Prince RCMP at 902-436-9300.
