Police allege the breach was committed between June 2024 and Aug. 14 of this year.Article contentWhen Munro was released by police after being charged in August 2023, he was ordered to remain away from anyone under the age of 18, with no exceptions.Article contentThat condition was varied in court in July 2024 to read: “Remain away from any person under the age of 18 . . . unless in the immediate and continuous presence of that person’s parent or guardian, who has been notified of your current charges. . . In no circumstances are you to be alone with anyone under the age of 18.”Article contentThe Crown opposed Munro’s release last week on the breach charge and applied to revoke his bail on the sex-related charges.Article contentArticle contentJudge Michael Sherar granted Munro bail Aug. 22 following a hearing in provincial court.Article contentThe judge ruled Munro could be released on a $12,000 bail order with two sureties and house arrest.Article contentMunro has to live with one of his sureties at an apartment on Point Pleasant Drive in Halifax and can only leave the residence for medical emergencies or appointments or legal commitments, providing he is accompanied by a surety, who must be carrying a cellphone.Article contentHe cannot have contact with the victim or her family members or be within 25 metres of their home, schools or workplaces.Article contentMunro is not allowed to possess any firearms and was directed to deposit his American and Canadian passports with the court prior to his release and not make any applications for renewal.Article contentSherar also prohibited Munro from communicating with or being around anyone under the age of 18 or attending any park, playground, daycare, school, swimming pool, recreation centre, community centre or anywhere else children might reasonably be expected to be present, “except in the immediate presence of either of your sureties.”Article contentThe breach charge will be back in court Sept. 15.Article content
