In a Friday news release, the Mounties said they received a report on the morning of Sept. 5 from a local school regarding a male student who had made online threats.Responding officers arrested the student, 17, in the school parking lot without incident, the Mounties say.The investigation revealed that the student had made threatening comments in a group chat the night before, suggesting he would bring firearms to school and harm teachers, according to the release.No firearms were found on the student or in his vehicle.A second male student, also 17, was arrested at the school shortly afterward.Portage la Prairie RCMP continue to investigate the matter.
