(Dale Solie/LinkedIn)A 36-year veteran of the Saskatoon Police Service is its latest deputy chief.The service and Board of Police of Commissioners announced Friday that Dale Solie will be stepping into the second-in-command slot.”Dale has a wealth of knowledge from his service with SPS including many years on the executive team,” Chief Cameron McBride said in a news release.”Whether it be at work on on the football field, Dale is leader who is not afraid to ask questions and encourage those around him to be their best.”In addition to policing, Solie is also a long-time football coach at Holy Cross high school.Over his career, Solie has worked in the bicycle unit, on the tactical team and in traffic enforcement.He has been appointed to a five-year term.ABOUT THE AUTHORDan Zakreski is a reporter for CBC Saskatoon.
