They managed to knock the blaze down quickly but the damage had already been done. Article contentArticle contentSt. John’s Regional Fire Department platoon chief Ed Sears said there were flames breaking through a side window when they arrived and that it appeared the fire started in the kitchen. Article contentHe added there were three people downstairs and one person upstairs at the time but all were out of the home when firefighters arrived on scene.
