(Jane Robertson/CBC)A 35-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a woman who was found seriously injured outside a home in northwestern Manitoba. Manitoba RCMP received reports of a disturbance at a residence on Snake Island Way in Clearwater Lake, a community near The Pas and about 525 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, on Aug. 30.Outside the home, Manitoba Conservation officers directed Mounties to a 31-year-old woman who was seriously injured, police said in a news release Tuesday. The woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but she needed further medical treatment, so she was flown to Winnipeg, where she died from her injuries on Thursday. Police arrested a 35-year-old man at the home. Walter Leach, from The Pas, was originally charged with aggravated assault, but the charge has now been upgraded to manslaughter. He remains in custody, police said.
