(Tyson Koschik/CBC)Canada’s transportation safety authority is investigating after a float plane crashed south of Island Lake in northeastern Manitoba on Saturday evening. A de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver float plane went down about 50 kilometres (27 nautical miles) south of Island Lake — which is about 470 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg — at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada told CBC News in a statement. The TSB said it does not provide information about people involved in crashes. CBC News has reached out to the RCMP for more information about people injured or killed in the crash.
