(Francis Ferland/CBC News)A man has died following an incident with a forklift in east Ottawa Wednesday evening, in what the Ministry of Labour confirms is a workplace incident.Paramedics said they received a call at about 6:30 p.m. about a man who was trapped under a forklift near the 2400 block of Sheffield Road, between Innes and Walkley roads in the Industrial Park area.The man was pronounced dead at the scene, paramedics said.At about 9 a.m. Thursday, two Ministry of Labour vehicles were seen at a Cascades facility on Sheffield Road, alongside police cruisers and a firetruck.”A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate,” a Ministry of Labour spokesperson told CBC News by email Thursday. “As the investigation is ongoing, no further details can be provided at this time.”Cascades is a packaging, hygiene and collection company headquartered in Kingsley Falls, Que. According to the company’s website, the facility is used for collecting and processing discarded papers and other materials.
