(Richard Woodbury/CBC)Nova Scotia’s woods restrictions now remain in place only in Annapolis County, where crews continue to fight the Long Lake wildfire.The Department of Natural Resources said Thursday afternoon that restrictions were being lifted in Cumberland, Hants, Lunenburg, Kings, Queens, Shelburne, Digby and Yarmouth counties. Restrictions were lifted in seven other counties on Aug. 29 and in two more on Sept. 11.The ban on woods travel throughout the province was implemented on Aug. 5 due to an elevated wildfire risk.The Long Lake fire in the West Dalhousie area of Annapolis County, which broke out on Aug. 13, is being held at more than 8,400 hectares, but crews are still working to put it out.The fine for violating the woods ban is $25,000.
