RCMP communications, said in an email to CBC News that once the force learned about the charges, they launched a code of conduct investigation, which remains ongoing.”A/Commr. Teboul has been temporarily re-assigned and his duty status is subject to continuous review and assessment,” said Roberts.The BCPS says they have chosen Andi MacKay, a senior Vancouver lawyer in private practice, as a special prosecutor for the case.The service said this was done “to avoid any potential for real or perceived improper influence in the administration of justice considering the nature of the allegations and the identity of the accused as a police officer in a senior position of authority.”Teboul’s first appearance is scheduled for Oct. 9 at Abbotsford Law Courts.ABOUT THE AUTHORChad Pawson is a CBC News reporter in Vancouver.
