(Justin Fraser/CBC)A 49-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle as she waited at a bus stop near the corner of Abinojii Mikanah and St. Mary’s Road last week, Winnipeg police say.Officers were called to the area around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 with a report of a rollover collision involving a pedestrian, police said in a news release Tuesday, a week after the crash.The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was already on the scene with the seriously injured woman, who was taken to hospital in critical condition.She died from her injuries on Sept. 18, police said.Police say she was waiting at the bus stop when a vehicle travelling eastbound veered onto the shoulder and struck her. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash, police said.As of Tuesday, no charges have been laid and the traffic division is continuing to investigate, police said.They’re asking anyone with information about the crash, including dashcam video, to contact the traffic division at 204-986-7085, or make a report anonymously to Crime Stoppers online or by calling 204-786-84477 (TIPS).
