Then it was owl hands on deck.Police officers attached a sharp knife to pole to carefully cut the netting to help free the bird, the release said. Then a Manitoba Conservation officer that had been called used a fishing net to lower the bird to the ground, the release said.Staff at the Assiniboine Park Zoo wrapped the owl in a blanket to protect the bird and rescuers. The owl was then released into the wild.
