Then, a tough loss against the CP Allen Cheetahs, also known as CPA, on Sept. 14 with a final score of 44-0.Article contentArticle contentCoach Shawn Davison said that the league is shaping up a bit differently than he anticipated, although one thing that remains consistent is that they have a great team to work with.Article content“Every year, we always have a great group of guys, and that makes it a lot easier for the coaches,” he said in an interview on the CEC football field on Sept. 24.Article contentOne of the team’s senior players, Lewis Lively, said the team was able to make a lot of improvements during their recent week off, also referred to as a bye week.Article content CEC Cougars pursue a Cheetah’s running back during action at James MacPherson Stadium earlier this month. Our team has come together.”Article contentSYDNEY BOUNDArticle contentWhen asked about team strengths this season, the CEC coach pointed to their defensive line.Article contentArticle content“I’m not taking away from the offense at all, but I think right now, the strength for our team would be our defense,” Davison said.Article contentOn Sept. 28, the team will be heading to Cape Breton to face the Sydney Academy Wildcats.Article contentDavison said he’ll be looking for the Cougars’ offensive line to have some success at this game.Article content“The offense is starting to click right now, I think,” he said. “I’m looking for them this weekend against Sydney to have some success… I think they’re looking to prove to our defense that they can score some points, too.”Article contentWith that said, the coach adds that across the board, the team is always looking to improve.Article content The Cougars attempting to tackle a C.P.
