Domestic assault charge dropped against Covered Bridge Chips CEO

(Jeanne Armstrong/CBC)A domestic assault charge that had been laid against Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company CEO Ryan Albright in the U.S. has been dropped.He had faced the charge over an alleged incident in Bangor, Me., in the early hours of Oct. 19, 2024.A clerk for the Penobscot County Court confirmed to CBC News that Albright’s matter was resolved on Wednesday, but could not discuss any details of why. Just four days after the incident, Covered Bridge announced that Albright had chosen to take an extended leave of absence for “personal health challenges.” The company, based in Waterville, near Hartland, N.B., said Brook Dickinson had been appointed executive vice president in his absence.CBC News reached out to the company on Thursday to ask if Albright was still on leave, but has not yet received a response.In the wake of the Maine incident, Bangor Police Sgt. Jason McAmbley told CBC News that officers had been called to a “family fight” and separated the parties. The alleged victim was said to have suffered minor injuries, but no other information was available. Albright was charged and brought to the Penobscot County Jail overnight.
