(Trevor Brine/CBC)A man accused of aiming an air pistol at a woman picking up her children from school and a little later at a group of young people a few blocks away is facing criminal charges, Winnipeg police say.A man has been charged after police allege he drew an air pistol on a woman picking up her children from school, as well as a group of young people a few blocks away in two random and unprovoked incidents on Wednesday.A woman told police she was picking up her children from École John Henderson Middle School in the Rossmere neighbourhood around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when a man approached her vehicle in a threatening manner, police said in a news release on Thursday.The woman told police the man pulled a black handgun from his waistband as she drove away.Shortly after, the same man approached a group of young people several blocks away from the school, near Brazier Street and Maxwell Place, and again pulled the handgun from his waistband and pointed it at them before the group fled.The man didn’t know any of the victims, police say. The incidents are believed to be random and unprovoked.The man, 19, has been charged with pointing a firearm, possessing a weapon, as well as carrying a concealed weapon, a prohibited device or any prohibited ammunition.He was released on an undertaking.More from CBC News:
