(Manitoba RCMP)Two women have been charged after three women were forcibly confined and assaulted at a home in a northern Manitoba community on Sunday, police say.A 29-year-old woman called police shortly after 8 a.m. Monday, saying she and two other women — age 27 and 24 — were held against their will and assaulted at a home in Moose Lake, RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.The women told officers that they were accused of stealing money by the residents of the home, before they were forcibly confined, searched and then assaulted before being allowed to leave.The women said they saw machetes, bear mace and a sawed-off shotgun while they were inside the home, the news release said.Officers seized multiple edged weapons, cash and ammunition when they searched the home. Police said they were already drafting a search warrant for the home for an unrelated reason.Nine adults were arrested at the home, but five were later released without charge, police said.Two women, age 28 and 31, were charged with forcible confinement and assault in connection to the incident.A 33-year-old man was arrested on several outstanding warrants and was charged with resisting arrest. A 40-year-old man was also charged with possessing property obtained by crime and released on an undertaking.More from CBC Manitoba:
