Some members of Curve Lake First Nation are still without power more than a week after an ice storm cut power to more than a million people in Ontario. Nicole Capalbo has been busy serving meals since the storm hit. “From day one when all of us started how everybody just came together our staff our volunteer community members that have pulled together, worked hard together to ensure that every member was reached with food water access to shower, hot meals, checking in on people daily multiple times a day,” said Capalbo. Curve Lake is located in an area called the Kawartha region – about 170 km northeast of Toronto and one of the hardest hit by the storm.
