(CBC)An evacuation is underway Sunday evening in the Ompah, Ont., area following reports of a spreading wildfire, provincial police say.OPP announced on social media at around 6 p.m. that they had closed a stretch of Highway 509 in North Frontenac, south of the small community, due to the flames.Roughly an hour later, they said windy conditions were pushing the fire both north and east.An emergency evacuation centre has been set up at the Ompah Community Hall, OPP said.In its own social media post, the Township of North Frontenac said a wildfire had broken out between South Lavant and Snow roads and that their emergency control group had convened.Both the township and OPP said they would continue to provide updates.Ompah is located roughly 115 kilometres southwest of downtown Ottawa.
