(Luke Ettinger/CBC)A video circulating on social media of a violent two-on-one assault of a youth in Bible Hill, N.S., has led to charges against a pair of youths.RCMP received a report of the video on Sept. 24. It showed the victim being repeatedly struck and kicked in what police describe as a “cowardly and criminal” attack while witnesses looked on.The victim was seriously injured in the assault, which officers determined happened in August at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition grounds, according to an RCMP news release Wednesday.RCMP said the attackers allegedly threatened to kill the victim if they reported the incident to police.“This was an unprovoked and vicious attack prompted by a false rumour,” said Sgt. Marc Rose of the Colchester County District RCMP in the release.“The fact that witnesses didn’t intervene as the victim was repeatedly struck and visibly injured is disturbing and disheartening.”A youth from Onslow, N.S., and a second youth from Purcells Cove, N.S., have each been charged with aggravated assault and uttering threats. Both are out of custody and are scheduled to appear in youth provincial court this month. “If you experience or witness violence, please report it to your local police or to CrimeStoppers. We will investigate thoroughly and lay charges whenever possible,” added Rose. MORE TOP STORIES
