(Robert Short/CBC)A Halifax Regional Police constable is facing four criminal charges following an investigation by Nova Scotia’s police watchdog into allegations that stolen bicycles and other property were being sold by an officer.Const. Fallon Sarah Clarke is charged with breach of trust, false pretence, obstruction and possession of property obtained by crime valued over $5,000, according to a news release from the Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT).A short news release issued by SIRT said the case was referred to the team by Halifax Regional Police on Sept. 4.Clarke is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Nov. 27.In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, Halifax Regional Police Chief Don MacLean said Clarke has been suspended with pay since the investigation began and will remain suspended pending the outcome in court.”Whether at work or on our own time, there is an expectation that police officers are leaders in the community, particularly when it comes to upholding the law,” MacLean said.”As chief, I am disappointed.
