(Kris and Linda Saunders/Facebook)Islanders Chris Buote and Kris Saunders say the energy at Rogers Centre for Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday in Toronto was “off the charts.””You could feel it in your chest,” Buote said Sunday from Toronto. “You didn’t hear noise, you felt it rattling in your chest. My Apple Watch kept going off with the noise exposure warnings.”The two love the Blue Jays. Saunders hoped for some “extra luck.””There was so much buzz from people at work and in the community when they found out that we were going,” he said. “It seemed like just bringing a little piece of them with us might bring the team some luck.”While Saunders thought the Jays were going to win, Buote wasn’t so certain.”I was always prepared for heartache, but I was optimistic, especially after Bo [Bichette] hit the home run. He said there was hope until there wasn’t.”When the final out happened on the double play, everybody was just kind of in stunned disbelief, and kind of a quiet reflection for me.”I considered this to be possibly [the] chance of a lifetime.
