(Elections Canada)Quinte West is portioned out differently in the changes to eastern Ontario’s southwestern corner.The regular independent boundary review that followed the 2021 census takes some of the city and gives it to Hastings-Lennox and Addington-Tyendinaga.Specifically, the riding border generally shifts from Quinte West’s eastern flank near Highway 62 to the Trent River north of Highway 401.Check with Elections Canada to confirm your riding.Southern Belleville is a hub for Bay of Quinte, which also includes CFB Trenton and Prince Edward County.Ryan Williams won it from the Liberals in 2021 by about 3,000 votes. Its boundaries also significantly changed in the last riding shakeup.Campus advance voting is April 13 to 18, general advance voting is April 18 to 21 and the deadline to apply to vote by mail is April 22. Elections Canada has more information on voting options ahead of election day on Monday, April 28.Here are the candidates. The People’s Party listed Nick Maddison as a candidate but he is not on the final ballot.Erica Charlton, GreenCharlton is a local English public school board trustee.
