(Submitted by Manitoba RCMP)Around 7:45 a.m. that morning, RCMP say the stolen ATM was found on Prairie Grove Road in the rural municipality of Springfield, before it was seized by police.Police did not specify whether the ATM held any cash, or if the thieves made off with any money.In a Facebook post, the Dawson Trail Motor Inn confirmed their business had been broken into and had its ATM stolen, adding the thieves did not steal prizes for a “sexy bingo” event scheduled on Saturday.”Sexy Bingo is still a go on Saturday,” the post reads.Anyone with information about the truck or the two men suspected of stealing the ATM is asked to contact RCMP at 204-433-7908.Gisele Young, who manages the Lorette Esso Grocery and Gas Bar, says crime has increased in the area over the last couple of years.”I don’t know if it’s because we’re close to Winnipeg — I don’t know why it’s happening, but it has increased,” she told Radio-Canada.She says people were surprised by the ATM theft, but not shocked.”You’re a little more cautious [of] strangers.”Gisele Young, who manages the Lorette Esso Grocery and Gas Bar, says people were surprised by the ATM theft, but not shocked as crime has increased in the area over the last couple of years.
