Conservative MLAs called for a full and transparent investigation. The MLAs, who represent parts of the Cariboo with significant mining activity — Lorne Doerkson (Cariboo-Chilcotin), Sheldon Clare (Prince George–North Cariboo) and Pete Davis (Kootenay-Rockies) — said they were saddened by the news.“Workers in the Cariboo and across the province deserve to know that when they go to work, they will return home safely,” they added.The incident marks the second known workplace fatality at a B.C. mine in the last few days.
