(CBC)RCMP say a 65-year-old woman died Monday after being hit by a vehicle while she was helping a man on an Annapolis County roadway.The collision happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of Granville Road in Granville Beach, N.S., police say.In an interview, Staff Sgt. Mike Maxwell said investigators learned two women were assisting a man who had been driving a Mitsubishi Outlander, which was stopped on the side of the road, when one of them was struck by a Hyundai Elantra.The victim, from Karsdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.Maxwell wouldn’t say what prompted the women to help.He said the man who was driving the Outlander showed signs of impairment, so police conducted a roadside breath test.The 74-year-old man from Port Wade was arrested and will face charges, including operation of a motor vehicle while impaired, said Maxwell.He said the driver of the Hyundai Elantra remained at the scene and the vehicle was towed.
