Winter is back and the fishers are already heading out jigging for fish and setting nets. Yes, fresh fish is so delicious this time of year. Now the lakes and most of the ocean has frozen nearby the community. Be careful when travelling on the ice as some parts may need monitoring with all this change in weather. Be safe, everyone, when out on the land and on the ocean and lakes while hunting and fishing. Christmas is coming soon so the community of Cambridge Bay is getting ready for all the holiday activities, such as games, feasts and much more. Recreation coordinator Joshua Muise is working with his colleagues to plan and set up the Christmas calendar of activities. Usually every year lately, there is a giant bingo, Santa parade, feasts and much more. We hope everyone will have a wonderful and safe holidays. Watch for the schedule, should be out soon. For school students, holidays begin Wednesday, Dec. 17, and they return to class on Monday, Jan. 5 — some important dates to remember. Joshua is planning that games will begin Dec. 18 and end on Jan. 2. Quana Josh. It’s also Christmas hamper season once again in our wonderful community.
