Her mother, Andrea Hancock, said in a Facebook post Feb. 24 that her daughter is “severely unwell” mentally.Article contentArticle content“Her father and I have been trying desperately for years to get her the help she needs,” Hancock said in the post. “I kept telling everyone that she was a danger if she wasn’t on medication and I said I’m scared that something will happen to someone if she loses touch completely.”Article contentShe said her daughter had not been living at home because of safety concerns.Article contentThe child who was stabbed “just happened to be around Elliott while she was having a psychotic break,” Hancock said. “My heart goes out to the boy and his family and I wish I could change it.
