No further information about the situation has been released at this time.Article content“I want to reassure our community that the safety of our students remains our highest priority,” said Paul in the release. “There are allegations being spread online that have no grounds other than speculation at this point. Membertou will investigate these concerns.Article content“Behaviour that disrupts the learning environment, threatens safety, or causes distress will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”Article contentPaul went on to say Membertou is grateful for the quick, professional response of its school team, noting the calm and decisive actions ensured that the situation was contained and that students remained safe at all times.Article contentBecause of the expected inclement weather, and the follow up from Tuesday’s incident, Membertou School will be closed on Wednesday, Paul said.Article content“We understand that incidents like this can be concerning. Please know that we remain committed to maintaining a secure, respectful, and supportive environment for every student and every family,” he said. “If you or your child have any questions, concerns or require additional support, please reach out to the school administration.”Article content
