He added two assists in six playoff games this season.A Charlottetown native, Squires was drafted by the Devils in the fourth-round, No. 122 overall, at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year entry level contract with the NHL club last July and was among the final cuts from the team last fall.In 255 career games in an Eagles uniform, Squires recorded 103 goals and 245 points. He was a second-round pick by Cape Breton at the 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft.The Comets, who are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday, will return to action on Wednesday when they host Glace Bay’s Logan Shaw and the Toronto Marlies.
