Along with his goal, Squires finished the contest with two goals and a plus-1 rating.The 20-year-old led the Eagles during the regular season with 24 goals and 75 points in 58 games. He added two assists in six playoff games this season.A Charlottetown native, Squires was drafted by the Devils in the fourth-round, No. 122 overall, at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year entry level contract with the NHL club last July and was among the final cuts from the team last fall.In 255 career games in an Eagles uniform, Squires recorded 103 goals and 245 points. He was a second-round pick by Cape Breton at the 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft.Logan Shaw of Glace Bay was in the Marlies lineup for Wednesday’s game. He had a goal and an assist along with three shots and a plus-3 rating.Article content
