We really play better at home. Our fans have earned that, we’ve earned that. We got the job done.”Randy Staats and Clarke Petterson each had seven points in the game to surpass the century mark this season. Staats had two goals and five assists to finish at a career-high 102 points while Petterson added seven assists to give him an even 100 points. He led Halifax with 104 points last season.Cody Jamieson, Thomas Hoggarth and Mike Robinson each netted hat tricks and Drew Hutchison made 31 saves in goal for the Thunderbirds, who finish with an 11-7 record.Former Thunderbirds forward Chris Boushy scored five goals for the Rock (5-11).Halifax’s playoff opponent will be determined following action on Saturday, the final day of the regular season. The Vancouver Warriors and Rochester Knighthawks are tied for fourth at 10-7 and the Calgary Roughnecks are in sixth at 9-8.The Rock visit Rochester on Saturday while the Warriors host the Philadelphia Wings and the Roughnecks entertain the Colorado Mammoth.Article content
