Hailing from Lunenburg County, she currently lives in Truro and is an established figure in the business community.Article contentFor almost a decade, she has worked with CBDC Northern Opportunities for Business Limited.A Truro Rotary Club member, she also led the Community Build Up+ project in Portapique after the April 2020 mass casualty.After getting offices set up in Ottawa, Truro and Amherst, Hirtle suspects her first order of business as MP will be working in the House of Commons. Photo by Aidan Rawding /Truro News“My understanding is Mr. Carney’s going to want to hit the ground running fairly quickly,” she said, referring to Liberal leader Mark Carney.The Liberal party is projected to win the federal election, but it is uncertain whether it will be a majority or minority government.“We’ll be getting to Ottawa, getting the house back in and getting down to the business of running the country and dealing with the American situation.”On a local level, her first priority is connecting with constituents.“Beyond that, my goal for the riding will be to get back around to all the areas of the riding, and meet again all the folks that I met on the campaign trail,” she said.“They all want to know me better and I want to get to know them better and I want to make sure that I’m hearing what their needs are, and being able to carry their voices to Ottawa.”Updates to follow.Article content
