(Kamloops Search and Rescue/Facebook )Search and rescue crews recovered a person’s body from a lake near Kamloops, B.C., on Saturday after the swimmer drowned while trying to get to a dock.Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) said the person was last seen swimming in Kamloops Lake towards a dock at Bruker Marina in the resort community of Tobiano, about a 25-minute drive west of Kamloops.First responders were called out to the lake at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday and arrived within minutes, KSAR wrote in a social media post. But they weren’t able to find the person until 11 p.m., when an underwater drone located the swimmer’s body on the bottom of the lake.It marks the third drowning death in the Kamloops area since July, following two deaths in the Thompson River. The first was a Thompson Rivers University international student from India who was swept away after entering the river to get a volleyball in early July. The second death happened later in the month when a 23-year-old jumped off the well-known Overlanders Bridge into the Thompson River and didn’t resurface. LISTEN | Mother calls for help after presumed drowning:  Daybreak KamloopsMother pleads for help after son goes missingBraden Wallace Peters was last seen jumping from the Overlanders Bridge.
