The women will play at 11 a.m., followed by the men at 1:30 p.m.Cape Breton’s home opener will be on Sept. 6 at 1 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. when the New Brunswick Reds make a visit to Sydney for their first look at the Capers programs.Because of the Capers women’s team and St. Francis Xavier’s men’s club won their respective league championships last fall, both will host the AUS championship tournament.The AUS championship tournament will take place Oct. 23-26 at Ness Timmons Field in Sydney and StFX Stadium in Antigonish.The U Sports Women’s Soccer Championship will be held Nov. 6-9 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont., while the U Sports Men’s Soccer Championship is scheduled for Nov. 6-9 at the University of Toronto.The 2025-26 AUS winter sports schedules, which include basketball and track and field, will be announced next month. Cape Breton has representation in those sports.Article content
