They become the second club in ECHL history to win the title, joining the Newfoundland Growlers, who won the title in 2019.Hylland, who played two full seasons with the Eagles from 2016 to 2018, had 15 goals and 32 points in 72 games last season. He also added eight goals and nine points in 19 playoff games.As for Beauchamp, who appeared in 17 games with the Eagles during the 2016-17 season, he had seven goals and eight points in 22 regular season games. He did not appear in any playoff games.Havlena, who played two-and-a-half seasons in Cape Breton from 2018 to 2020, joined the Lions after spending most of the season with Concordia University. In seven games, he had no points, however, he recorded two goals and three points in 21 playoff games with the Lions.Choules, who had stints as the Eagles’ head coach and general manager from 2011 to 2012, guided the Lions to a third-place finish in the Eastern Conference with a 45-19-56-2 record and 98 points. The team finished first in the North Division. His efforts earned him a two-year contract extension with the club last month.On Monday, Hylland, Havlena and Beauchamp were among the players listed on Trois-Rivières’ protected list for the 2025-26 season.Article content
