Published Apr 16, 2025 • 1 minute readThe Sydney Justice Centre is shown Photo by Cape Breton PostA Cape Breton man charged with a fatal hit-and-run accident is scheduled to return to court next month.Jason Gordon Cashin, 50, of Membertou was arrested days after the vehicle he was driving struck a woman on Keltic Drive near the intersection of O’Neil’s Lane in the Balls Creek area on Feb. 20 at approximately 7 p.m.The victim, later identified as 22-year-old Halle Sweet, was taken to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital by ambulance where she died of her injuries.Cape Breton Regional Police appealed to the public for help identifying the driver of the vehicle that had fled the scene.
